This is something that was made a while ago, but due to submissions being down I couldn't properly test it. Seems to do the job correctly of announcing new records, videos, guides, and basically anything that you see at the bottom of the homepage. It doesn't tweet forum posts, I could add that if there's an RSS feed for it, probably a good idea if I set this up with the main Sonic Center twitter, as that's an already established account. I may need to tweak some stuff yet as I'm not sure if it handles multiple records submitted at once correctly.

Thoughts? And should this be implemented to the official twitter account?

I'm fairly certain one of the last things Rolken implemented before he left was an RSS feed. I just don't remember where it is.

I like it. Does it only tweet out untied records though? How does it handle long usernames/stat categories? And what is "twibble"?

Also pls no scarf, it's almost like an insult to Sonic >_<.

I like it and yes it should be on the main TSC twitter imo, assuming it only tweets untied records. Tied records aren't really as interesting and could get too spammy.

I like it too. Just one more thing what do you think of tweeting out new champions as well? The only drawback I can think of is that when a new game gets added to TSC, the championship can change hands a lot and we could have a lot of tweets about that. Not sure if that would annoy people or they would find it interesting.

I wonder if it would be possible, from the site's side, to curb "New champion" announcements for a game entirely until its charts have been out for, say, a month.

So it tweets anything that this box shows:

so yes it does tweet only untied records, new champions and everything else in that box on the home page. TSC would have to do something on their end to sort out it spamming with new champions, but let's be honest new games aren't that often anyway.
Twibble is the site that i used to set this up, as i don't have the time/technical know how to code this myself, and he has a scarf cos it's the first image of sonic i found on my harddrive :P

Also tweets are limited to 300 characters, so if it's a long division I assume it wont show all the tweet, however i can use an url shortener on it if I want, so I will if that becomes an issue, but I think 300 characters is enough to handle it

The reason I bought it up was that when I was going through it, I only saw that the S1GBA Times leadership was mentioned but not the new championship, which was given at the same time. So I wondered if there was some sort of problem with it, in case future championships don't get mentioned or something :/

Based work SB, based work. Shame there is no social media linking ability for TSC or I'd say it would be wise to tie the person's twitter handle (if applicable) to them. (ala the ZSR record announce account)

Yeah i was thinking that cryptic, people could link their account to their TSC account, then on twitter it would mention them, but atm TSC doesn't have that functionality.

This is totally awesome and I'm happy there's a cool way of doing this now. IIRC people have always wanted an active TSC Social Media site that keeps you up to date with records and Champions and this is a cool way of doing it. GL implementing it and getting the support!

There's no need for URL shorteners as long as you don't want to collect clicking stats, for all URLs, no matter how long or short, use exactly 22 characters of a tweet, which actually has a max length of only 140 (not 300 -- unless that's actually a feature you can pay for or so). Other than that, thanks for doing this.
